Another important activity at Sunbright Enterprise Company and at Sunbright USA is purchasing materials and components exactly as called out on our customers' drawings and specs. Purchasing professionals at both locations are experienced in sourcing metals, plastics, fasteners, hardware, coatings, plating, tooling and heat treating to support our precision CNC machining operations in Shenzhen.

Whenever possible, materials are sourced in China or other parts of the Far East, since this is usually the lowest cost approach. However, to meet certain specific customer requirements, it may be necessary to buy materials and parts to National Aerospace Standards (NAS), Military Specifications (MS) or Aerospace Material Specifications (AMS). In these cases, the purchase may be made in the US by Sunbright USA buyers and the material shipped to Shenzhen for manufacture. Materials such as 4130 aircraft alloy steel per AMS 6348 or AMS 6350, 17-4PH stainless steel per AMS 5604 or 7075-T6 aluminum per AMS-QQ-A-250/12 have been bought this way. Mill Test Reports (MTR) are kept for all such materials and can be supplied at any time or sent with the shipment of finished parts.

Additional support has been provided to Sunbright Enterprise Company in Shenzhen by purchasing personnel at Sunbright USA in Cleveland, OH by sourcing some items that are not readily available in China. Inspection tools such as thread gages and air gages or tooling such as special drills and taps have occasionally been sourced in the US and shipped to China.

Another purchasing activity that can be useful to our customers is China sourcing. In this case, Sunbright buyers in both China and the US work together to purchase parts that are needed by our customers but that are not manufactured by Sunbright in Shenzhen. Such things as fasteners, molded plastic parts, fabric zipper bags and pressure gages have been provided to our customers under such an arrangement. Stocking and inventory management are also provided for these parts at our Cleveland, OH warehouse.
